Jim SeghersJimmy Seghers was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed grammar school at St. Stanislaus in Bay St. Louis, then attended De La Salle high school in New Orleans and St. Vincentís College in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Jim earned his bachelorís degree from St. Maryís College with majors in Philosophy, History, Education and Classical Languages. Next, he successfully completed a four-year graduate program at St. Maryís in Theology and Sacred Scripture, and earned a Masterís Degree in History from De Paul University in Chicago, Ill. Subsequently, Jimmy served as the General Manager and Managing Partner of one of Los Angelesí largest financial service firms, a position from which he took an early retirement and returned home in 1995. During his business career Jimmy has addressed numerous audiences in the U.S. and abroad of subjects related to sales and management.

Jim has taught Sacred Scripture and Apologetics, the defense of the Catholic faith, for the past 22 years. He is the RCIA director at St. Charles Borromeo in Picayune, Mississippi. Jimmy frequently gives retreats, parish missions and talks on biblical subjects. He is seen on FOCUS with Lisa Flood discussing biblical and religious topics. His classes are approved by the archdiocese of New Orleans for certification credits for religion teachers, and he is an instructor at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Bible Institute. Twice weekly Jimmy is heard on the Radio Maria network. His essays have been published in This Rock, the Clarion-Herald, and he contributed to a catechetical series published by Ave Maria University Press. His most recent book is The Fullness of Truth: A Handbook for Understanding and Explaining the Catholic Faith Biblically.

In 1995 Jimmy and Michelle formed Totus Tuus Ministries, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation devoted to evangelizing Catholics. He and his wife Michelle are the parents of nine children. Michelle is completing her 20th year of home schooling. She is also leads the Young Adult Ministry at St. Peter parish and heads Theology on Tap for the north shore.
